Welcome to the 2011 Doug Fir Fiction Award! We are pleased to announce that our judge this year will be novelist Rivka Galchen. She is the author of the novel Atmospheric Disturbances and was chosen by The New Yorker as one of the top 20 American writers under the age of 40.

Additionally we're excited about our partnership with the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, who will be contributing a residency to this year's winner.
